THE ORIGINS OF TERROR

(From Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on Adıyaman Asu TV and Kral Karadeniz TV, November 30th, 2009)

ADNAN OKTAR: Let me provide a bit of information about the origins of terrorism. Let me explain the roots of PKK [Kurdistan Workers’ Party] terrorism, which do not lie in a lack of soup or an inability to get married. Marx, the founding father of communism, says, “If there were no conflict, everything would stay the same.” In other words, thesis and antithesis. The Marxist idea is that “when an idea, a thesis, is popular in society, a diametrically opposed idea, or antithesis, will gradually emerge. A new idea again, a synthesis, will emerge from the interaction of the two, and that process will continue in the form of thesis-antithesis-synthesis.” They say that conflict will go on uninterrupted.

The communist leader Lenin says, “Progress is the struggle between opposites.” He also said: “When some people condemn us for our cruelty we must not be amazed at how such people can forget even the most basic Marxist principles.” He says that cruelty is a Marxist principle. He said that in Pravda on 29 October, 1918. Lenin said, “We never have rejected terror as a principle, and never shall.” Another extract from Lenin: “Some people must undertake to kill or attack a police station, and some must rob banks.” In the 2005 edition of his book On Theoretical and Practical Terror, Lenin tells people to “kill the police, soldiers and civil servants, and to start fires in official institutions.” That is what they did. “Take money from the state’s coffers; revolutionary communist forces will not be defeated, but must emerge as an armed force.” Just like the PKK, because that is a Stalinist organization, too. “Spreading fear by killing and bombing people and blowing up buildings, and thus representing the communist dictatorship in society are important elements of our coming to power.” In other words, we cannot come to power in any other way, he means.

These methods I have just described are the reasons for the growth of the PKK in the east. Lenin says; “We are definitely not opposed to political killings. Only individual terrorist movements directly linked to the masses are of any value. If the masses rise up on their own”, Lenin says, “they cannot succeed”. Vladimir Ilich Lenin says, “We cannot get anywhere if we do not put a bullet into their heads when we apply terror” on page 311 of volume 35 of his book. “The state under the hegemony of the proletariat is a machine for crushing the bourgeoisie.” That means the rich, capital. “The dictatorship is rule based directly on violence and not restricted in any way.” In other words, we recognize no rules when we resort to violence. “The revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat exists thanks to the violence inflicted on the bourgeoisie by the proletariat.” In other words, they regard the AKP [ruling Justice and Development Party] as a bourgeois party. And other parties, too. And that is how they think of the people there. “It is a rule that survives and cannot be restricted by any law,” they say. Look, “it is a rule that survives thanks to the violence inflicted on the bourgeoisie by the proletariat.” It could not survive otherwise, they say. They mean it is violence that keeps them alive. “It cannot be restricted by any law.” Lenin says they recognize no legal code, on page 53 of The Proletarian Revolution.

The German racist who taught Hitler and who made Hitler what he was says: “Nations can only progress through intense competition resembling Darwin’s fight for survival.” You can see the influence of Darwinism everywhere. Mao, for example, says, “Revolution is an uprising and rebellion with which one class overthrows another.” (Little Red Book, chapter 2). The communist leader Trotsky; “It will be resolved by resorting to violence of all kinds.” He says that is how they will achieve their aims. “Red terror is a weapon to be used against a class that is condemned to die and cannot bear with it.” Look, they have condemned the people to death, they have decided, and the red terror is a weapon to be used against a class that is condemned to die and cannot bear with it. Since they are unwilling, he says, “we will do it”. “We will do the killing”, he says.

We therefore have to fight them on the intellectual level. They are waging a struggle of ideas; they talk and describe their ideas and write books. What will happen if we let them set their ideas out unilaterally without responding? The response to be made will of course set out the errors of dialectical thinking and the errors of Darwinism, and all Marxist and fascist systems are in any case based on Darwinism. Neither fascist nor communist systems will remain once Darwinism collapses; therefore, the real question in the Southeast [of Turkey] is the demolition of Darwinism. In other words, if Darwinism is demolished intellectually, communism will collapse as a direct result, and there will be no need to trouble ourselves with it. Communism will collapse of its own accord. But so long as Darwinism survives, communism and fascism will remain alive, too. The answer lies in an intellectual struggle, insha’Allah.

PKK IS A TERRORIST, COMMUNIST, LENNINIST ORGANIZATION, WE NEED TO FREE OUR KURDISH BROTHERS IN THE SOUTHEAST FROM THIS SUPPRESSION AND EMBRACE THEM WITHIN THE MORALITY OF RELIGION

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, those high plateaus of Diyarbakir, those beauties, the good nature, respect and kindness of those people all come to mind. Allah permitting, I will visit our provinces one by one in the future, Insha’Allah.

The first move from Armenia in Karabagh. What did I tell you? With the inspiration and permission of Almighty Allah I said that our borders with Armenia would be opened up, they would withdraw from Nagorny Karabagh and open up the Lachin corridor, didn’t I? The Armenians have their revenge monuments, and I said they would be done away with that. Things are happening just as I said.

PRESENTER: Things are heading that way in Syria, too.

ADNAN OKTAR: What did I tell you? I said that Syria would unite with Turkey, didn’t I? That is where things are headed.

OKTAR BABUNA: Visas have been done away with, and unification is on its way.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, visas first and then passports. Ahmet Davutoglu, masha’Allah, is an immaculate Muslim and Turk. He has done very well, our foreign minister. Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also working hard on the subject, masha’Allah. But the initiatives and democratization in the southeast are by no means sufficient. I can tell you that. But democratization is a super happening, really great.

PRESENTER: What do you think we should do to resolve all the problems in the region? They say there should be no military operations in the region. But we are still suffering casualties in the region and losing martyrs. Yes, the efforts for peace are continuing, but there is a reality experienced there. Our young men and martyrs are there, our martyred brothers. What needs to be done to stop the bloodshed and find the best moderate solution?

ADNAN OKTAR: First, the military is carrying out operations means that the military is defending themselves and the nation. They come and attack our military with guns and bombs, and the troops protect themselves. If it is an operation, of course they will conduct operations. Is there any logic behind those questions on whether they should carry out operations or not? Of course they must insha’Allah, as how else can they defend themselves? These people attack you with guns, so what are they meant to do? But the cement that binds the region and all of Turkey together is religion. That is, the unity of religion. Thanks be to Allah, we are all Turkish. In terms of language, it looks like the whole region will eventually end up speaking Kurdish. They are determined over that and are going to spread it. Allah knows the truth. That means that they are dividing the language and the nation. They say they are Kurdish, and that is true. But there are Laz people in the country, too, however, we are all Turkish in my eyes insha’Allah. Because everyone living inside Turkey’s borders and who says he is a Turk, is in fact Turkish and I regard them as my blood brother. Many of my friends, brothers are Kurds, and Kurds are the nicest people in the world. I am proud of them all. So what we are to aim at is a spiritual union, a religious union. Look, there is an alliance when it comes to religion. But these people are now abolishing religion. They say they reject religion and religious holidays. They say they have their own Kurdish holidays and that they only recognize those. They say they recognize no religious holidays and will not celebrate them. Go there and you will see they do not mark them. For example we celebrate those holidays, but they do not. This is grave. Do away with religion and there is nothing left. When he has a separate religion, a different language and a separate nation, then he asks to leave and nobody can object to that easily at that time. This is extremely dangerous. It is religion that binds people together. The people in the region need to be told extensively about religious moral values, love, affection, compassion, friendship and brotherhood, as a national policy. Can the state do that? Of course, the state cannot do it because of its laic nature. So who will do it? Non-governmental organizations will do it. We will do it, you will do it. What needs to be done to make this possible? The way ahead of them needs to be cleared of obstructions. I mean, you cannot go forward if the road is blocked, can you?

PRESENTER: That is true.

ADNAN OKTAR: You must clear the road so they can progress. For one thing, our Kurdish brothers need to be shown a deep love and affection. They have been deeply offended. The alleged Ergenekon organization has ruined them all. They burned them in lime pits and martyred them in unsolved killings. They took innocent young Kurdish boys from their homes, as well as young Kurdish girls, and told them to confess their links to the PKK. When they denied any knowledge of it and even swore they had no connection to it, they said they were informed about their relation to the PKK and that’s it. Then they were told to kneel down, and got a bullet in the head and were taken away and thrown into lime pits. That is terrible ruthlessness and immorality. Who are they? If someone commits a crime the state has its prosecutors, police and judges. They will be convicted in the courts and serve whatever sentence is handed down. And then they will be released after their service as citizens. How dare you kill and martyr them? What right have you to kill them? Some of these people were really oppressed and offended there. We now need to embrace them to our bosoms. Handing out cake, chocolate and footballs is not enough to redeem the position. It has gone too far to be redeemed by chocolate.

They tell the terrorists up in the mountains to come down and they will find them spouses and jobs. Do they think the man is hiding out up in the mountains because he cannot find a wife and get married? Does he go up there because he cannot find a job? Why should someone be prepared to risk his life? That is how he has been trained. They have made a communist out of him, a Stalinist. He has received Darwinist, materialist education and has been convinced that terror is necessary. He has been taught that it is legitimate to attack the police and the state. That is how he has been educated. What is the point of saying you will give him chocolate, cake or footballs? That is really odd, you cannot get anywhere like that. That will just make them angrier or more aggressive. We need to rebuild the love, affection, compassion and honor that have been broken in them and provide a very powerful religious education, teaching of moral values and build bonds of love. This is of course one of the things that will happen in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as). With his spiritual presence, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will have an impact on the entire region, by Allah’s leave. But since we are the vanguard of Hazrat Mahdi (as) we have to work with all our might and main to prepare and ease the foundations, to prepare causes and opportunities.

Now, they are watching us on TV channels in southeast Anatolia. Why, because those dear people like me very much, because they know that I love them greatly. They would not listen to anyone else with a different set of mind. Why do they love me so dear? Because I truly love them, and I regard them as sacred beings created by Allah. Insha’Allah, when all this corruption comes to an end we will hold barbecues with them in the mountains and the Kurdish tents of Diyarbakir, Siirt and Urfa. They will play their music and we will all have a lovely time, insha’Allah. They can now rest easy, their saviour is imminent. I had mentioned this before, we will tell PKK to lay down their arms and turn themselves in within 12 hours and it will all be over with. In twelve hours, by Allah’s leave, and as the vanguard of Hazrat Mahdi (as) we will ask them kindly. But there is sure an irony with the modern wording behind this request. This word irony, or others such as concept and real economy... They do not use the Turkish words, so how can we deal with people if we keep having to use a dictionary? Let them talk real Turkish. In summmary, that is the kind of beautiful climate we are moving toward...

COMMUNIST CHINA'S POLICY OF OPPRESSION IN EAST TURKESTAN

ADNAN OKTAR: Wherever you look, the theory is in a state of collapse. There is no sense in keeping it propped up. Take Mao. Mao was wonderfully ignorant. I look at old pictures and he had difficulty even walking in a straight line. He survived in the mountains of China by eating frogs and cat meat. He read Darwin’s book, which took his breath away because he was so ignorant. He says that the basis of Chinese socialism and Chinese communism is Darwin and his theory of evolution. But he was wrong, and ruined his whole nation. You look at the Chinese and they are wretched, robotized, maddened. Is that not a tragedy? A few days ago my colleagues brought a Chinese friend with them. I had to take a step back. It was as if I had seen a ghost. It is a really strange feeling. Why bring people to such a state? I felt awfully sorry for him. They have been distanced from humanity, all of them. Let me say that 90% of China has lost all human depth. They have been turned into robots, machines. They have been crammed into tiny, cell-like homes. I saw in a magazine recently, the husband was an engineer and his wife was also an engineer, and, no kidding, they were living in a tiny space of about 4 m2. There is an empty expression on their faces. Why should these people suffer such oppression? Leave them alone, let them believe in Allah, let Islam spread, let them live in freedom. Isn’t that right? Allah will give you plenty and abundance and peace. It is the same with Russia. There used to be that classic Russian face at one time, as you know. Members of the Politburo used to line up, like a string of stone skulls. One would be petrified just to see them. I used to be repelled to see them when I was a child.

ADNAN OKTAR: Then communism disappeared, and a wave of relief came over them. A joy came over the Russian people. I look at young Russian girls and their faces are radiant. Their children are full of joy. That means that oppression, a totalitarian institution, fanaticism, literally hypnotizes people and ruins them. Let them breathe and live according to their beliefs. Insha’Allah, China will also shake off its yoke. It does appear to be heading in a more liberal direction. But China’s behavior in the recent incidents in East Turkestan (Xianjing) was really terrible.

REPORTER: Unfortunately.

ADNAN OKTAR: They have martyred 35 million Uighur Turks, brave people of East Turkestan. I am not saying we should go there and take revenge, but they must now let our people go. They must fear Allah. I do not know whether they believe in Allah or not, but what do they want from the people of East Turkestan? It is a huge country.

REPORTER: Of course.

ADNAN OKTAR: Let them live freely, according to their religion. They take young girls away from their homes at midnight, and nobody knows where. They recently took 10,000 girls away. There are pictures of them, carrying bags. Where did you take them and what have you done with them? Tens of thousands of people disappear under cover of darkness. What courts are you taking them to? Where are you taking them? Why are you detaining them? Nobody knows. What kind of justice and judicial system is this in China? We have written to Chinese ambassadors, suggesting we meet. I mean, we are in no position to hate or declare war on them. We want to resolve it peacefully and as brothers. They should have the right to a defense, but they just lined them up against a wall and shot them. What kind of law is that?

REPORTER: Barbarity.

ADNAN OKTAR: What kind of justice system is it that takes people away and shoots them the next morning?

REPORTER: It is not the law. What is happening there has nothing to do with the law.

ADNAN OKTAR: But this is disgraceful. They say they are a modern country. But modernity is not what we want. We do not want the food and drink you will provide. We want to live freely according to our faith. Let our brothers go. The very name of China has made me terribly uneasy ever since childhood. East Turkestan has always been a sore spot with me. I mean, what a terrible thing; men with almond-shaped eyes and empty faces come to your door at midnight, like devils, and off you go. What do they want? Who knows. What is your crime? Who knows. Can I present a defense? No. Kneel down by that pit. Bang, bang. Dead. Then another one, and another… Thirty-five million. Haven’t you had enough? For pity’s sake, lift your hand from that nation. This matter of East Turkestan, of the Uighur Turks, is the number one matter in the world. The matter needs to be pursued very closely. So many countries of the world are asleep. How can it be none of your concern if 10,000 people are martyred overnight? Neither France is interested, nor Germany, nor America.

REPORTER: But if the Turks had done it, we would have been called barbarians and there would have been a huge outcry. The earth would have moved if the Turks had done it.

ADNAN OKTAR: The earth would have moved if it had just been 10 people, or even only 1 person.

REPORTER: Of course, there would have been an outcry over just 1 person. But the same does not go for some other people.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, and arrests are still going on. People go and don’t come back. What kind of country is that? One should be tried, taken before the court and allowed to present a defense, and evidence should be brought forward. But nothing of the kind happens.

REPORTER: No crimes have been committed.

ADNAN OKTAR: There are no crimes.

REPORTER: If someone commits a crime, the punishment is enshrined in the law, and the courts mete it out. I cannot imagine any crime being committed deserving of the death penalty.

ADNAN OKTAR: What can these people do? They have already surrendered and are living like lambs there.

REPORTER: Yes.

ADNAN OKTAR: What do you want from those exceptionally well brought up young girls? Where have you taken tens of thousands to? What are you doing with them? We do not know what is happening to their chastity. No trace of them can be found, we have no idea where they are. The Han Chinese has taken them away. Some of these people are real psychopaths and attack Uighur Turks, people from East Turkestan, wherever they find them. Obviously there will be protests. Why are you taking those people away?

REPORTER: To provoke incidents.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. Why are they behaving so disgracefully? The aggressors are psychopaths, or rather a large part of them are psychopaths. What happens if you put them in the middle of them? They will behave disgracefully in any way possible, and that place is the most restless in the world at the moment. The world should act as one and act against China. If the whole world were to issue an ultimatum to China, the matter would come to an end straightaway.

REPORTER: Of course.

ADNAN OKTAR: China cannot throw its weight around. Its economy is dependent on everyone else. If foreign countries sever their trade links, if they set an embargo in motion, China will be brought to its knees at once. But if there is an embargo, they will stop food supplies to those poor people, so sanctions are not the answer. Pressure has to be put on the Chinese administration. Constant pressure must be applied through the papers, the radio and television, day and night. Look, I am saying that this is the greatest problem facing the world. Thirty-five million people have been martyred; 35 million. That is a huge number. I mean, when arrests are made, 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 people are taken away in a single night. That is what happened recently. They said that they shot 200 people. Who are they kidding? Tens of thousands of people have disappeared. So where are they? They do not say. They do not say where they have taken all those young girls. They take these immaculate sisters of ours from Turkestan away, these modest, devout young women. Who knows what those psychopaths do with them. There is no question of not thinking about it. Action needs to be taken. Sadly, we hear very little from them. There is a woman they call Mother Uighur, but nobody supports her. These events are so great they should be rocking the world. This is a truly dreadful state of affairs. I am now preparing a new book on the subject. We shall probably be holding a conference on East Turkestan in the following days. But these things will not have that great an impact. These are not the kind of people to be influenced by a book. We need statements aimed at the leaders of the world that our government, the governments of Islamic countries and Turkic governments can go along with.

REPORTER: Joint action is required.

ADNAN OKTAR: They must leave them alone. What harm are they doing to them? No, China wants money. Let us give it them for the economy, let us give them a certain amount of money if they say they will leave East Turkestan alone.

REPORTER: Could that happen…?

ADNAN OKTAR: As people would say damn it, let’s give them what they want, not in that sense but that is what they would mean. They have much to gain. They are not going to stop colonizing them just like that. They are in it for the money. But we can give them money to let them go.

REPORTER: They will not set them free. My personal view is that when they are given money they will demand more the next stage down the road, in 5 or 10 years’ time, or else they will make some other commercial demand, and those demands will keep coming one after the other and will never stop, in my view, until they are scared off.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, but not with them being scared off but at the request of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Hazrat Mahdi (as) will say he is opposed to this pressure and will request them to lift it. And you will see them lift that pressure that same day. The matter will be resolved that very day. There is love and affection in Hazrat Mahdi (as), as you will see. He will just make the request. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will make his power felt, but will shed no blood. He will have an awesome power. It will be like a struggle between a lion and a monkey. Like a lion asking a favor from a monkey. The lion will tell it to set those people free. And the monkey will understand just what the lion is saying, insha’Allah. They will set them free that very day. But I am saying all this in terms of setting out direct causes for it.

REPORTER: Of course, that is one option.

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, I am saying this because doing something is better than doing nothing.

REPORTER: Yes.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, because China will not behave like that once Hazrat Mahdi (as) has emerged. Nobody would have the courage to do such a thing.

REPORTER: True.

ADNAN OKTAR: Said Nursi says that no power or army in the world can withstand him. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will always just make requests, polite demands. It will be the same with the PKK question. He will simply warn the people there to leave the region. People who do not believe, in other words. He will tell them to let the people, his brothers, be free. Believe me, the whole thing will be over in just 12 hours. They will abandon the area like a bunch of fleas.

REPORTER: Insha’Allah.

ADNAN OKTAR: Because otherwise, Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) heart will be set against them, and they will know what that means, insha’Allah. And they will not be able to oppose him, insha’Allah.

REPORTER: Insha’Allah.

THE MASONS' SINGLE EYE SYMBOL IS THE SYMBOL OF THE ANTICHRIST

One of the hadith handed down from our Prophet (saas) states:

THE ANTICHRIST (DAJJAL); THE ANTICHRIST WILL HAVE A SINGLE EYE...." (Muslim, hadith number 5215)

According to the hadith, the antichrist has only one eye. This is the main distinguishing feature of the antichrist. Since freemasonry represents the system of the antichrist and directly worships satan, it has adopted this distinguishing characteristic of the antichrist as its own symbol. That symbol is the “single eye,” which appears before us in just about all masonic institutions. The single eye within the triangle is a particularly well known symbol of masonic lodges and even the number one sign of freemasonry itself. Most of the sources that deal with freemasonry emphasize this single eye symbol.

This eye symbol is described in freemasonry as the “all-seeing eye.” Masons believe that this eye represents the supposed great power they worship. The “all-seeing eye” that masons worship and describe as a great power is the single eye of the antichrist.

THE SECTIONS ABOUT THE SANHEDRIN AND THE PALACE OF THE PROPHET SOLOMON (AS) FROM THE INTERVIEW OF MR. ADNAN OKTAR BY IRANIAN TELEVISIONS (13/07/09)

REPORTER: In your works you distinguish between religious Zionism and atheist Zionism.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, that is correct.

REPORTER: You say there are atheist Zionists in Israel, non-religious Jews, but the regime, the majority of politicians in Israel, encourages an essentially harsh, exaggerated religious character. In other words they operate under a mask of Judaism, individuals in the Israeli Cabinet, ministers and senior officials. Is there a contradiction here?

ADNAN OKTAR: Sanhedrin Rabbis are my beloved friends and brothers, they are people that I love. They came to visit me and stayed in my home, the Rabbis of Sanhedrin. I spoke with these people and they are not comfortable in Israel. They regard the way that Muslims want to protect them very exciting and they are waiting for that in rejoice. Because living a devout life is the greatest blessing for a Christian, for a Jew.

REPORTER: Rabbis in America sometimes announce that they share the views of President Ahmadinejad. In other words, under the Zionist regime they are forced into a second-class position.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, the atheist Zionist regime is desolating the entire people of Israel and is oppressing them everywhere in the world. They want to live a devout and happy life. Insha’Allah, once the Turkish-Islamic Union is founded, they will be able to go to the synagogues and praise Allah at the top of their voices, sing lovely hymns and worship freely and they will be able to do their business freely. The Turkish-Islamic Union will represent complete salvation for them insha’Allah.

REPORTER: Do you generally regard atheist Zionists as a threat or not?

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. Atheist Zionists are people who collaborate with the Freemasons. There is no distinction between atheist Zionists and Masons. They both share one single deity; satan. But when one refers to satan, people imagine that they engage in vice, and thus they resemble to the satan, they think that this is what we mean by it. These people take someone, someone whom they think according to their minds, to possess metaphysical features, people whom they think to be a medium and put him into a hypnotic, trance state and thus they make him get in contact with the satan in hypnosis. And they implement every single thing that satan tells them to do, in the whole world. For instance, satan tells them if blood is to be shed somewhere or if there is to be a war, and they implement what he says, word for word. There are millions of Masons in America and millions in Britain and France. Freemasonry is very strong in Israel, and these are all atheists, all atheist Zionists. They appear to be speaking in the name of Allah and to act in the name of peace and brotherhood, but this is a characteristic of the Dajjal (AntiChrist) described in the Bible. He speaks of Allah and of brotherhood, but in fact knows no Allah or Holy Book, and is tyrannical and a spiller of blood. We can see all these things in Freemasonry, too. They speak of Allah, peace and religion, but in their lodges they deny Allah, religion, faith, Holy Scripture and everything. They also engage in all kinds of activities in order to prevent Allah’s deen being taught in schools. They have also caused the slaughter of 250 million people across the world. Look, the Masons shed the blood of 250 million people in World War I and World War II and subsequently and they thus fed the satan. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will make the final reckoning with the satan and the army of satan. And that will be a historical reckoning. Satan will be defeated for the first time.

REPORTER: I see.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes.

REPORTER: You say that the atheist Zionists are in power in Israel are unjust and have been given guerrilla education. This is how people think in many places in the Islamic world, they also think like that in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes.

REPORTER: Now the Iranian leadership has proposed that following the disappearance of Israel, a referendum should be held among the Jews, Christians and Muslims living there and that people living in the region, not immigrants, should be appointed to the government. In other words, the Zionists can go back where they came from, to Europe or America or wherever. In other words, let the local Jews, Christians and Muslims set up their own administrations and then the whole region can be at peace. What do you think of that?

ADNAN OKTAR: Hazrat Mahdi (as) will do that. Nobody but Hazrat Mahdi (as) can do it. Muslims, Christians and Jews there will enjoy a golden age in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Jerusalem will turn into an full center of worship. The palace of the Prophet Solomon (as) will be rebuilt as it was in its origin, in the time of the Mahdi (as). It will be rebuilt in its perfect state and the whole area will turn into a place of happiness, rejoicing, it will be like a festival ground. Of course the atheist Zionists will then either pack their bags and leave or will have to behave themselves. Well, they may stay in that area, we would not object to it but they will have to behave. The administration will pass in its entirety into the hands of people who believe in Allah, of people who defend compassion, affection, love, friendship, endearment and justice, of people who defend everything that is beautiful. Consequently, our Jewish brothers there will enjoy the age of the Messiah. The Messiah awaited by Israel, the Messiah referred to in the Torah is the Mahdi.

REPORTER: The same?

ADNAN OKTAR: The very same. He is the Hazrat Mahdi (as). When we look at their descriptions we see they are almost exactly the same as Hazrat Mahdi (as). This will be a huge salvation for them as well.

UYGHURS AND CHINESE CAN LIVE TOGETHER IN PEACE IN EAST TURKESTAN

The efforts being made today to stir up ethnic conflict in East Turkestan are extremely dangerous. Our Muslim brothers in East Turkestan have been subjected to various difficulties for the last 60 years or so, but have never turned to violence and conflict. The Uyghur Turks are a noble people, known for their good manners, honesty, fortitude, reconciliatory natures, obedience to the state, loyalty and devotion. These fine people possess excellent virtues, such as forgiveness, loving peace, lovableness, respect for different ideas and beliefs and judging people according to their moral values rather than their race. There has therefore never been any conflict based on ethnicity with the other peoples living in the region, especially the Han Chinese, and neither will there be any in the future. The Uyghur Turks want a climate in which everyone can live together in peace and security, respecting the right to life of everyone in East Turkestan, no matter what their religion or ethnic origin. Some of the main ways in which this can be brought about are as follows:

1. It is obvious that the Uyghur Turks favor peace and security. But peace in the region can only be ensured if the security of our Uyghur brothers is guaranteed. The international community has important responsibilities in that respect. The support of international societies and organizations is essential if it is to be possible for our Uyghur Turk and Chinese brothers are to be able to live in peace. Democratic pressure from these organizations, especially the UN, on the Chinese government, will ensure that the administration follows a line that is more peaceable toward the problems and legitimate demands of our Uyghur brothers and respects their human rights. When the necessary encouragement and direction is provided, when the international community acts as a guarantor, it will be easier to establish peace in the region.

2. It is natural for China to be keen to protect its national and economic interests. But this cannot be established through oppression and aggression. The path that will make China prosperous and strengthen its economic and social regeneration lies in a conception that respects human rights, is democratic and loving, and that defends freedom of ideas and belief. The only solution that can calm Chinese fears, such as lack of access to energy resources, economic losses, loss of territory or fragmentation is the foundation of the Turkish-Islamic Union. The Turkish-Islamic Union will establish an environment in which borders are lifted, there is freedom of trade and investment and in which all communities have equal access to energy resources. In this way, China will be able to spread its investments over a wide area from Tanzania to Indonesia and sell its good across a wide territory, and Muslims will be able to invest in China on a large scale. China will regenerate rapidly with the establishment of the Turkish-Islamic Union, will be spared from having to use its citizens as a cheap labor force and will enjoy abundance and plenty all over.

3. Islam is a religion of peace. All forms of violence are sinful in Islam. In the Qur’an, Allah commands Muslims to be forgiving. A Muslim who abides by the Qur’an and follows our Prophet (saas) has a duty to be peace-loving, affectionate, loving, compassionate, patient and moderate. The moral values of the Qur’an oblige Muslims to control their anger, to respond to evil with good, to always speak and behave in a pleasant manner, to forgive under even the most difficult circumstances and to behave justly, even if that conflicts with their own interests. The spread of and learning about Islamic moral values is a great benefit for China. If the Chinese government is concerned about the Han Chinese taking in action in terror attacks and wishes to avoid anarchy and violence, then it must encourage the teaching and dissemination of Islamic moral values. In a China inhabited by people who live by the moral values of the Qur’an there will be no need for military occupation and security measures. The unrest and unease will come to a complete stop. The result will be a society made up of individuals who trust and respect one another, treat one another with understanding, are respectful of and loyal to the state and who all live in peace, that spends its money on the wealth of its own citizens instead of military investment, without investing millions of dollars in armaments and employing thousands of security personnel. And the order and equilibrium sought by China will be established naturally.

4. Our Uyghur brothers’ demands for humane conditions, to live freely according to their religion, to be able to worship as they wish, to protect their own culture and maintain their own existence are all justified and human ones. The most effective way of bringing these about is for the Uyghur people to make a cultural leap forward, to improve themselves with an anti-materialist and anti-Darwinist education, to increase their economic strength, and strengthen themselves both materially and spiritually. The Turkic Uyghur people must not forget that they are the most important representatives of Muslims and Islam in China. They must act as models to the Chinese people with their good manners, nobility, modesty, balance and moderation. An Uyghur people who are culturally advanced and materially stronger will clearly have wide opportunities to defend their own rights and also to describe and spread the moral values of Islam. By Allah’s leave, the future of an Uyghur society that loves Allah, protects its own national culture, is anti-Darwinist and anti-materialist, whose members love one another, which perfectly implements Qur’anic moral values and supports peace, love, tolerance and compassion, will be a very bright and excellent one.

The time we are living in is a very holy one, in which Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear and in which the Prophet Jesus (as) will return to Earth. The time has now come when war and conflict will come to an end, when armament will come to an end, when people will love and embrace one another as brothers, when they will trust one another and when moral virtues will reign. This is the destiny of Allah. That destiny will also manifest itself in China, and this will be a time when Chinese and Uyghurs live together in friendship, when they all attain wealth, and when they build a bright civilization with joy and enthusiasm.

HOW WILL THE AWAITED OTTOMAN MODEL COME?

The only solution in these years when mankind stands most in need of peace, calm and brotherhood is to raise people with proper moral values, who are just, devout and patriotic. The way to do that is by elevating national and spiritual values by using modern means and methods of communication. The current young generation of Turks must be made aware of their Turkish and Muslim identity and of their Ottoman legacy by means of modern means of mass communications. In order for the importance of this Muslim Turkish identity to be properly appreciated, they must be told how people possessing that identity ordered the world for hundreds of years.

Over the course of history the Turkish Nation founded 16 powerful states, and with the superior ability it demonstrated in the administration of those states it constitutes a historic model for all the nations of the world. The strength of the Muslim Turkish Nation, and particularly the Seljuk and the Ottoman empires, cannot be explained in terms of military strength alone. It was a moral conception based on the values of the Qur’an that underlay the force that governed the world’s most complex and sensitive region over the centuries.

The main features of this moral conception revealed by our Lord in the Qur’an are behaving honestly and generously by avoiding oppression and injustice, maintaining justice no matter what the circumstances, and always favoring tolerance and reconciliation. It is because of these characteristics that the peoples subject to them were always content with the rule of the Muslim Turks, and even generally entered under their rule of their own free will. It was thanks to this just rule under the Ottoman Empire that members of the three Abrahamic faiths and many sects and millions of people with completely different languages, cultures and ethnic origins lived together in peace for hundreds of years in an area including the whole of the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Middle East.

In our day, however, the suffering, tears, oppression and war in those same lands refuse to come to an end. The “Ottoman Territories” made up of the Balkans, the Middle East and the Caucasus, with Turkey in their center, are still very active and complex in structure. The vacuum that arose in the region in the wake of the Ottoman Empire has yet to be filled and no real security has been established. This has attracted the notice of the Muslim Turkish Nation that applied an exemplary “co-existence model” in these same lands for hundreds of years under Ottoman leadership. And this model reveals the fact that it can only be made a reality today and in the future by the Muslim Turkish Nation. Indeed, many statesmen, political scientists and researcher/authors have been examining this just system of administration implemented with such success by the Turkic states, especially the Ottoman Empire. The aim behind this investigation is to establish a new administrative model based on that applied by the Turks.

History shows that permanent peace can be brought to both the Middle East and to the Balkans and the Caucasus under Turkish leadership, that of the heir to the Ottoman legacy. A union established under Turkey’s leadership will both put an end to the conflicts and bring permanent peace to the region and also raise the standards of living of all the peoples there as they become part of a powerful economic union.

The Turkish Nation possesses a very sound and deep-rooted legacy. The important thing is to properly understand that legacy and to turn our faces to the future while fully adopting our past.

The most powerful model, in military, political and economic terms, available to the states in the region is one resulting from their joining forces rather than clashing with one another. A common foreign policy will make these states a power in world politics. For that reason, Turkey’s mission regarding the future in this new age, the 21st century, must be one compatible with the greatness and glory of the Muslim Turkish states. Moreover, as in the past this mission must be one that will elevate Turkey to the highest peaks and place it among the world’s leading states, the position it deserves. The solution sought by the Muslim Turkish Nation, which founded the most powerful civilizations in world history and reigned over the whole of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, lies in its own history.

The responsibility of the individual members, the children, of a nation that founded glorious states over the centuries and ruled over three continents, and that has the potential to establish a new world state in the 21st century is to correctly understand and act on the material and spiritual values that made the Ottomans what they were.

The Ottoman example shows that the Turkish Nation has the requisite experience, ability and strength to easily manage a wide expanse of territory. The important thing is to properly evaluate these values that were so elevated in the Ottoman Empire and re-interpret them and apply them to our own age.

As in the past, so today, with its patience, faith and excellent moral values, the Muslim-Turkish Nation will support the wronged against the oppressor, and will unite people from different cultures and origins under the umbrella of justice and tolerance, and will thus establish the climate of peace and security for which the whole world is longing.

By the will of Allah, the 21st century will be an age of enlightenment for all Muslim and Turkish people...

The disorder and confusion in the Middle East in recent years has led world historians to intensively investigate the Ottoman Empire.

Seven hundred fifty foreign scholars applied to attend the 15th Turkish History Congress held by the Turkish History Institution (THI) on 1-15 September, 2006.

THI President Yusuf Halacoglu stated that the record demand for attendance stemmed from increasing interest in Turkey and the Ottoman Empire on the part of historians.

Halacoglu described this interest by saying, “The lands where the events in the Middle East taking place in Ottoman territories has encouraged much greater research in these lands on the part of historians.” Prof. Ilber Ortayli, a member of the Preparatory Committee, stated that previously only Europeans had been interested in the Ottoman Empire, though now the whole world was interested in it.

The reason for their success in the Gallipoli Campaign was the devotion Turkish troops demonstrated to Islamic moral values.

There is no doubt that one of the most important events in Turkish history is the War of Independence. The religious behavior of the Turkish Nation played a major role in the winning of that war. Turks, young and old, displayed enormous self-sacrifice and made a major contribution to the preservation of the country. Ataturk saw that it was its spiritual strength that kept the heroic Turkish Army going during the Gallipoli Campaign and described the determination of the troops in these words:

They see the dying, know they will die in three minutes, but display not the slightest defeatism; there is no wavering! Those who can read hold the Holy Qur’an and prepare to enter paradise. Those who cannot, march reciting the Confession of Faith. This is an astonishing and laudable model that shows the spiritual power in Turkish troops. You must be sure that it is this loft soul that won the Gallipoli Campaign. (Selected Passages from Ataturk, Collected by: Cihat Imer, Remzi Press, 1989, p. 13)

It was by means of this faith, despite losing tens of thousands of martyrs, that the Turkish Army was able to fight so heroically at Gallipoli without the slightest uncertainty or wavering.

The whole world is interested in the Ottoman model

A documentary on the Ottomans produced by the world-famous History Channel was broadcast in the USA in early 2007. The documentary provided a lengthy description of the reigns of sultans Mehmet the Conqueror, Selim the Stern and Suleyman the Magnificent.

It emphasized how the Ottoman Empire, described as the protector of truth and justice, was open to all faiths and beliefs.

It also touched on the Ottoman policy of conquest and described how this was not based on religious or ethnic principles. It also praised the legal system drawn up in the reign of Suleyman the Magnificent.

JUDGING WITH JUSTICE ABOUT JUDAISM

In some of this author’s earlier works, it has been explained that a merciless policy of occupation, oppression and massacre is being carried out against Muslims of the Middle East by some Jews who have adopted atheist Zionism, which is a racist ideology. The details the human rights violations committed by Israel in the Middle East and in other regions were also told. Surely, every Muslim and person of conscience and justice from every belief would condemn this unjust oppression and is right to do so.

However, the other side of the coin also deserves attention; both in history and in our day, some Jews are being unjustly targetted and subjected to violence by the members of other beliefs or nations.

The racist hatred felt for the Jews which is known as “anti-Semitism” is embraced by various fanatical groups, regimes or racist organisations. Today, many Jewish people face oppression because of this ideology.

This form of violence must definitely be opposed.

We are against atheist Zionism, which is purely a racist and cruel ideology. Similarly, we are also against anti-Semitism, that is hatred felt for Jews, which is a racist and cruel ideology as well. That is because, our belief calls for a just and tolerant treatment against every nation and belief. In one verse, God commands us to uphold justice for each nation:

You who believe! Be upholders of justice, bearing witness for God alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives. Whether they are rich or poor, God is well able to look after them. Do not follow your own desires and deviate from the truth. If you twist or turn away, God is aware of what you do. (The Koran, 4: 135)

If someone criticises and hurts an innocent Jew because of the crimes of atheist Zionism, he violates justice. He would again violate justice and err, if he ever condemns different Jewish communities in the world, the members of the Jewish community in Turkey for instance, due to the unjust Israeli invasion and attacks. He would diverge from justice and commit a great sin, if he ever resorts to retaliation against Israeli invasion and organizes acts of terrorism against Israeli civilians. In this article, we will briefly deal with the concepts of atheist Zionism, Judaism and anti-Semitism and explain the attitude a Muslim should assume with respect to this subject.

The Tolerance Displayed by Islam to the People of Book

In 70 AD, Jews were expelled from Palestine, their homeland they had dwelled for thousands of years, by the pagan Roman Empire and for the remaining 19 centuries lived in diaspora, that is in exile. Throughout this period, they were subjected to oppression and cruelty in most of the Christian countries. They were exiled and even mass executed. During this period, they found the most peaceful and secure environment in the lands of Islam. In the world of Islam, anti-Semitism never flourished; Jews (and Christians) were always allowed to follow their own faiths and even observe their own law, free of any form of oppression and cruelty.

The main reason of this spirit of tolerance and security is the Koranic morality. In the Koran, Jews and Christians are named “the People of the Book” and Muslims are advised to establish friendly relations with the People of the Book. The Koran allows Muslims to marry the women of the People of the Book and to accept an invitation to a meal. (Surat al-Maida:5) These commands show that bonds of kinship may be established as a result of the marriage of a Muslim with a woman from the People of the Book, and that both sides of the union can accept each other’s invitation to a meal. These are the fundamentals that will ensure the establishment of equitable human relationships and a happy communal life.

In the Koran, God commands Muslims to ensure the security of even the idolaters who do not comply with the revelations of God: “If any of the idolaters ask you for protection, give them protection until they have heard the words of God. Then convey them to a place where they are safe.” (Surat at-Tawba: 6) Meanwhile, Muslims must show more respect, tolerance and goodness to the People of the Book who, compared with idolaters, harbor a faith very similar to those of Muslims.

In another verse, God commands Muslims to be good to all non-Muslims – including the People of the Book – provided that they do display enmity towards Muslims:

God does not forbid you from being good to those who have not fought you in the religion or driven you from your homes,or from being just towards them. God loves those who are just...(The Koran, 60:8)

Consequently, Muslims are responsible for establishing very warm neighbourly relations with Jews and Christians living in the same community. In a country where Muslims are in majority, the People of the Book are entrusted to Muslims. Making them live in peace and security and protecting them against any danger is a religious duty on Muslims. As was witnessed many times in history, targeting Jews only because of their beliefs, depriving them of their civil rights, sending them to horrible concentration camps is a great cruelty. In the same way a Muslim condemns such cruelty, so must he do his best to prevent it.

Ignorant people are obsessed by “holding prejudice against those who are not like them”. That is the reason why numerous accusations and hearsay were spread about Jews both in the past, particularly in the medieval Europe, and today. Still today, under the conditioning of such myths, some people subconsciously hold prejudice and feel antipathy towards Jews. A Muslim can never assume such a crude outlook and attitude. God relates us the existence of the “People of the Book” as a fact, explained us the issues about which they hold misconceptions yet also commanded us to treat them well. In one verse, God commands us to say the following to the People of the Book:

We believe in what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to you. Our God and your God are one and we submit to Him. (The Koran, 29:46)

Separating Atheist Zionism and Judaism From One Another

As mentioned above, the tolerant attitude that must be assumed by Muslims towards the People of the Book has manifested itself throughout the Islamic history. For centuries, Muslims treated Jews in a friendly manner and Jews responded to this friendship with loyalty. The factor that disturbs this picture is atheist Zionism.

Atheist Zionism emerged in the 19th century. The two particular characteristics of the 19th century Europe also influenced atheist Zionism: racism and colonisation. Another outstanding characteristic of this movement is that it is an ideology far removed from religion. Those Jews, who were the ideological mentors of this ideology, either had weak religious beliefs or were atheists. They regarded Judaism not as a religious unity but as the name of a race. They maintained that Jews represented a distinct race from European nations and thus it was impossible for Jews to live with them and that they definitely needed a homeland of their own. The choice of Palestine was not grounded on religious factors but on historical ones. (Surely we consider devout Jews, who regard Zionism as a right to live in the lands of their forefathers and seek to remember and worship God freely in this land, to be free of this statement.)

By the moment atheist Zionism emerged in Middle East, it brought nothing but conflicts and pain. In the period between the two world wars, atheist Zionist terrorist organisations organised bloody attacks against the Arabs and the British. In 1948, after the foundation of Israel, Godless Zionism’s expansionist strategy drifted the entire Middle East to an utter chaos.

The starting point of atheist Zionism that carried out all this cruelty was not Judaism but Social Darwinism, a racist and colonialist ideology which was a legacy of the 19th century. Social Darwinism, which fostered a constant struggle among people by imposing on them the philosophy, “the strong win and the weak are doomed to lose”, drifted the German nation to Nazism as it drifted Jews to atheist Zionism.

Today many religious Jews who criticise atheist Zionism stress the same fact. Some of these religious Jews even do not see the state of Israel as a legitimate entity and thus refuse to recognise it. Rabbi Hirsch, one of the foremost religious Jews, says: “Zionism wants to define the Jewish identity as a national entity...which is a heresy.”[1] The Israeli statesman Amnon Rubinstein says: "Zionism is a revolt against their (Jews') fatherland and the synagogue of the Rabbis".[2]

Rabbi Forsythe, on the other hand, maintains that from the 19th century on, Jews diverged from religion and fear of God, an act which entailed a punishment that came in the form of Hitler’s cruelty and thus called Jews to be more religious. Forsythe stated that cruelty and mischief on earth are deeds engaged in by Amalek (disbelievers in the terminology of Torah) and added: “The Jew must be antithetical to the essence of Amalek, which is wildness, abandonment of Torah and Godliness, evil, immorality, cruelty, absence of order or right, lack of authority and law.”[3]

Atheist Zionism, which practices just the contrary, is actually a form of fascism, and fascism stems from disbelief, not from religion. Consequently, the one who is actually responsible for the bloodshed in the Middle East is not Judaism but atheist Zionism, a fascist ideology that has nothing to do with religion.

However, as in the case of other versions of fascism, atheist Zionism also attempted to make use of religion for its own ends.

Misinterpretation of the Torah by Atheist Zionists

The Torah is a holy book God revealed to Prophet Moses. God says in the Koran: “We sent down the Torah containing guidance and light...” (The Koran, 5:44) As is also informed in the Koran, the Torah was later distorted with the incorporation of human words in it. That is why what we have today is the "Distorted Torah."

However, an examination into the Torah reveals the existence of numerous peculiarities of the True Religion in this once revealed Book. Many issues introduced by the true religion such as faith in God, submission to Him, being grateful to Him, fear of God, love of God, justice, compassion, mercy, opposing cruelty and injustice prevail throughout the Torah and the other books of the Old Testament.

Apart from this, the wars that went down in history and the carnages during these wars are related in the Torah. If one’s purpose is to find a basis – although by distorting the facts – for the cruelty, massacres and murders, then he can well take these sections in the Torah as reference for himself. Irreligious Zionism resorts to this very method to legitimise its terrorism which is actually a fascist terrorism and it has become quite succesful. For instance, it has already used the sections related to wars and massacres in the Torah to legitimise the massacres it carried out against the innocent people of Palestine. This is an insincere interpretation, however. Godless Zionism makes use of religion to legitimise its fascist and racist ideology.

Indeed, many religious Jews oppose the employment of these sections of the Torah as a reference for the murders committed against the people of Palestine, which is the right thing to do. The Neturie Karta, an organization of anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews, proclaim that, in fact, "according to the Torah, Jews are not allowed to shed blood, harm, humiliate or dominate another people". They further stress that, "Zionist politicians and their fellow travellers do not speak for the Jewish people, the name Israel has been stolen by them."

Atheist Zionism, by pursuing the cruel policy of occupation in the Middle East under the cloak of “Judaism”, actually does harm to Judaism and Jews all over the world and makes the citizens of Israel or the diaspora Jews the target of fanatics who are willing to take revenge from atheist Zionism.

At this point, it deserves mention that there are also people who, in the name of Islam, want to employ the insincerity of “making use of religion for the cause of fascism”. These people carry out horrible violence against innocent people and then try to justify these acts by misinterpreting the verses in the Koran that are related to war and jihad. However, these verses actually describe a hot-war-situation carried out against people who have declared war on Muslims. Those who attempt to justify their murders by misinterpreting these verses with wicked intentions are actually people who do not fear God and who exploit religion for the sake of the passion they feel for cruelty. Indeed, God informs us in the Koran that such people with wicked intentions often try to misinterpret verses in the Koran. (The Koran, 3:7)

In reality, neither Islam, nor Judaism and Christianity approve unjust violence and cruelty. However, there may be fanatical, violence-ridden, merciless people in every faith. Wicked people whose main ambition is to shed blood, inflict pain and oppress people out of their arrogance and pride may distort the concepts of these religions and exploit them.

This leads us to an important conclusion: the efforts of atheist Zionism to employ Judaism for their own ends can never be the justification of "hatred felt for Jews." Muslims oppose atheist Zionism, not "the People of the Book."

Conclusion

It is not unusual that Muslims show reaction to the crimes committed by atheist Zionism against humanity and that these crimes evoke feelings of hatred in them. However, such hatred should never turn into an unjust reaction. God warns us in the Koran thus: "Do not let hatred for a people incite you into not being just. That is closer to piety. Have fear of God. God is aware of what you do. (The Koran, 5:8)

In compliance with this principle of justice;

• We recognise the right of the existence of Israel: The Jewish citizens of Israel have the right to live in peace and security in Palestine, the lands of their ancestors. However, they must absolutely recognise the right of the existence of Muslim Palestinians, the other owners of Palestine, on the same lands. In this sense, they must cease to occupy their lands and restore the destruction they have done for more than 30 years and recompense for it.

• We advocate that the Jewish citizens in our country (Turkey) and all other diaspora Jews should live a peaceful and secure life free of any form of concerns and fears. We wish that unacceptable means of pressure on Jews such as the “Wealth Tax” that was once taken from Jewish citizens in Turkey, a shameful page in history, never recur. We also wish that Turkish citizens of Jewish, Greek, Armenian, Catholic, Protestant origin and all other communities, that is to say, “the People of the Book”, can observe their respective beliefs, customs and traditions and lifestyles and thus enjoy a free and comfortable life in our country.

In truth, the People of the Book and Muslims are not enemies. As a matter of fact, they are allies. Especially, in our age when the world has been invaded by atheist and anti-religious ideologies, Christians, Jews and Muslims, the defenders of the same moral values and worshippers of the same God, must co-operate.

Concerning the People of the Book, God gives Muslims a command in the Koran; to rally to a common formula:

O People of the Book! Let us rally to a common formula to be binding on both us and you: That we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than God. (The Koran, 3 :64)

This is also our call to Jews and Christians: As the people who believe in God and obey His revelations, let us rally to a common formula, to the word of "faith".

Let us love our Creator and our Lord, our One God. Let us obey His commands. And, let us pray that our Lord guides us to the right path.

Once Muslims, Christians and Jews rally to this formula and once they realise that they are not enemies but actually friends and that their actual enemies are disbelief and atheism, the world will be a different place. The conflicts, enmities, fears and acts of terrorism, that have been going on for centuries will come to end and a "peace of civilisations" based on a "common formula", love, respect and peace will be established.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST

While elaborating on our views about Jews and Judaism, we need to make special emphasis on the cruel genocide of European Jews by the Nazis during World War II.

The Policy of Cruelty Pursued by Nazis

Jewish inmates in Buchenwald, hungry, sick and traumatized under Nazi persecution.

Right after Nazis came to power in 1933, they started to pursue a ruthless policy of isolating and then removing the factors in the German society they found to be "harmful". The primary target of Nazi mass executions was the disabled and people with genetic disorders. Influenced by the thesis of "eugenics" developed by the German biologist Ernst Haeckel, Nazis regarded these people as parasites harmful to the gene structure of the German society and thus employed the most ruthless methods against these miserable people. The handicapped and those with genetic diseases were first rounded up in "sterilisation camps", sterilised and then began to be killed by the secret order of Hitler.

Meanwhile, Nazis were also subjecting the opponents of the regime to inhumane oppression. Many people with leftist or liberal stance, a lot of priests and clergymen were arrested only because of their ideas and were forced to work to death under severe conditions in Dachau camp, which was established at a location close to Munich.

Another group that was oppressed by the Nazis were the Jews in the country. The Jewish nation, who were tried to be presented as "the source of all evil on earth" and "parasites that harmed the German blood" by the Nazi ideologists like Hitler and Rosenberg, were subjected to an ever-increasing oppression. The stores owned by Jews were boycotted, feelings of hatred and enmity were instilled in the German people against Jews and the rights of Jews were restricted by laws.

Murders and Torture in Concentration Camps

In the meantime, first the Jews in Germany and Austria, then the Jews all over the Nazi occupied lands during the World War II were sent to concentration camps. However, not only the Jews but also people from different ethnical and religious identities such as gypsies, Slavs, Russian captives were sent to Auschwitz, Majdanek, Sobibor, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno camps, most of which were located in Poland and were forced to work under very hard conditions in German war industry.

However, the Nazi cruelty went far beyond the point of making people work as slaves. Jews and other captives were transported to Auschwitz and other concentration camps in locked wagons and during these long travels, a lot of old and weak people lost their lives out of hunger, thirst and crowd. People who arrived to the camps by trains were treated as animals and those who showed a minor resistance were executed before the very eyes of their families or children. In these camps, many families disunited.

            Jewish children in Auschwitz, 1944.

The sadist Nazi officers showed no mercy and pity to captives; for years, these captives led their lives as slaves under the arbitrary Nazi insults, threats and torture. These innocent people were used as guinea pigs. For instance, Mengele, the notorious doctor of Auschwitz, is known to have carried out horrible tests on adults and children chosen among the inmates to explore the limits of human body. In bitter cold in winter, people soaked in icy water were used to observe how many minutes a person could survive before freezing. Mengele is known to have carried out anaesthesia-free operations on inmates; he amputated their legs, arms or even stomachs without anaesthesia. The cruelest experiments of Mengele were the ones carried out on twin inmates. Mengele isolated all twins from other inmates and conducted tests on them to observe the influence of genetic factors. However, his methods were incredibly cruel. By injecting their blood to one another, he traced the reactions of the twins; in most cases one of the twins or in some cases both of them, suffered severe pain and high fever. For instance, to see whether eye-colour could change by genetic factors, he injected ink to their eyes. These experiments resulted in unbearable pain and often in blindness. He injected microbes of various diseases to little children to measure their resistance to them. Many innocent children suffered great pain and torture in the hands of this Nazi monster, became disabled or lost their lives.

Millions of innocent people lost their lives in concentration camps due to the systematic Nazi murders by means of gassing, shooting, and torture of any kind. Among Jews were also gypsies, Slavs, Russians, war captives, and anti-Nazi Germans.

The Nazi brutality explained above briefly is an undeniable and explicit fact of history. Every person of conscience denounces Nazis who are responsible for this cruelty.

However, there is another aspect of the issue that needs to be considered:

Those who were oppressed by the Nazi cruelty are not only the inmates of concentration camps. They are not only Jews as well. The World War II cost the lives of some 55 million people. Only the number of Soviet citizens who lost their lives during the war was about 25 million. Dozens of different nations and ethnical groups were subjected to the torture and cruelty of the Nazis and their fascist allies. Therefore, it would not be right to demand a special political compensation in the name of a single nation due to the sufferings of the World War II.

The fact that Jews were oppressed by Nazis cannot be used to justify and legitimise the cruelty inflicted on other nations (on Palestinians, for instance) by some Jews.

We place particular stress on these two issues, because the State of Israel and atheist Zionism, its official ideology, have been engaging in a misleading propaganda about these two issues for the last 50 years. They instil in the minds of people that the sole nation that was oppressed during the World War II was the Jews and that for this reason, people must see the cruelty inflicted by Jews on Palestinians as excusable.

Jews Who Oppose the Exploitation of the Holocaust

Millions of innocent people were slaughtered by the III. Reich. Jews and many other victims from different nations were buried in mass graves.

In recent years, this fact about the Holocaust has been expressed by Jews themselves. Esther Benbassa, the director of the Contemporary Jewish History Department of Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in France, wrote in Liberation on September 1, 2000 that "the Jewish Holocaust has been turned into a religion" and added: "Putting oneself in the status of a victim secures every Jew against criticisms and thus also Israel against criticisms."

An important work that stresses the fact that the concept of the Jewish Holocaust has become a political and economic means of propaganda is, The Holocaust Industry: Reflections on the Exploitation of Jewish Suffering, by historian Norman G. Finkelstein, a Jewish himself, from New York University. In his book published in 2000, Finkelstein, whose grandmother was also an inmate in Nazi concentration camps, explains that the concept of the Holocaust is being utterly exploited both by Israel and the Western Jewish organisations. As we know, international courts held in the wake of the World War II convicted Nazis of the crimes committed against Jews and charged them to pay huge amounts of compensation to them. For decades, Germany has been paying this compensation, which is expressed in billions of dollars, to Israel and other Jews living in different countries. Not only Germany but also other European countries, Switzerland for instance, and even the Eastern European countries that failed to help Jews during the Nazi occupation were several times charged with paying compensation to Jews oppressed by the Nazis.

Finkelstein, in his book, "The Holocaust Industry", states that these huge sums of money taken from Germany and similar governments were channelled to irreligious, Godless Zionist organisations rather than the Jews who were subjected to oppression during the war.

For instance, in recent years the Jewish organisations demanded a new compensation from Germany in return for the "service of Jews who were forced to work as slave-workers in Nazi camps". The number of Jews who were reported to take benefit from this payment was stated to be 135,000. However, relying on official statistics, Finkelstein declares that the number of living Jews who were forced to work in Nazi camps is not more than 14,000-18,000. The huge difference will be channelled to the atheist Zionist organisations under the guise of "compensation". (1)

Finkelstein also clearly expresses that in order to form and keep the Holocaust industry alive, Jewish organisations and, in some cases, some Jewish people commit numerous "frauds". According to the author: "Articulating the key Holocaust dogmas, much of the literature on Hitler's Final Solution is worthless as scholarship. Indeed, the field of Holocaust studies is replete with nonsense, if not sheer fraud." (2)

Conclusion

What has been related so far leads us to the following conclusion: Jews were subjected to a horrible genocide during the World War II by the Nazis. Millions of Jews -together with other people of different nations- became the target of Nazi brutality. We denounce this violence and want that neither Jews nor anyone from any other nation ever receive such hostile and cruel treatment.

However, using the fact of the Holocaust with the purpose of legitimising the crimes committed by atheist Zionism and the State of Israel against humanity, or in the words of the Jewish author Finkelstein, "exploiting" them, is rather wrong. History witnessed numerous genocides or massacres carried out against many nations. We must curse all of them and pay equal respect to the victims of all these nations.

DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN ATHEIST ZIONISM AND JUDAISM

In the summer of 1982 there began a great savagery that caused the whole world to cry out in protest. The Israeli Army entered Lebanon in a sudden attack, and moved forward destroying every target that appeared before it. The Israelis surrounded the refugee camps, where Palestinians lived who had fled the Israeli occupation years before, and for two days used Lebanese Christian militias to slaughter innocent civilians. Within a few days, thousands of innocent people had been massacred.

This terrible Israeli terrorism outraged the whole world. The interesting thing, however, is that some of the protests came from Jews, even Israeli Jews. Professor Benjamin Cohen of Tel Aviv University penned a statement on June 6, 1982, saying:

I am writing to you while listening to a transistor that has just announced that 'we' are in the process of 'realizing our objectives' in Lebanon: to insure 'peace' for the residents of Galilee. These lies worthy of Goebbels make me mad. It is clear that this savage war, more barbaric than any of those preceding it, has nothing to do with the attempt in London or the security of Galilee ... Jews, sons of Abraham ... Jews, victims themselves of so much cruelty, how can they become so cruel? ... The greatest success of Zionism is the 'dejudaisation' of the Jews. 1

Benjamin Cohen was not the only Israeli to oppose the Israeli occupation of Lebanon. Many Jewish intellectuals living in Israel condemned the savagery carried out by their own state.

This attitude was not restricted to the occupation of Lebanon. Israel’s oppression of the Palestinians, its insistence on its policy of occupation, and its links with the semi-fascist administrations in the former racist regime in South Africa had been criticized for many years by many prominent intellectuals in Israel. This Jewish criticism was aimed not just at the policies of Israel, but also at atheist Zionism, its official ideology.

This situation is the expression of a very important truth: Israel’s policy of occupation and state terrorism from 1967 up to the present stems from the ideology of atheist Zionism, and many Jews in the world are opposed to it.

For Muslims, therefore, the concepts that should be criticized are not Judaism or the Jewish race, but Godless Zionism. In the same way that an anti-Nazi can have no hatred for the German people, so he can have none for the Jewish race because he opposes atheist Zionism.

The Racist Roots of Atheist Zionism

After the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem in 70 AD, they began to spread to different parts of the world. During this period of the ‘diaspora,’ which lasted up to the 19th century, the vast majority of Jews saw themselves as a religious group. Over time, most Jews adopted the religion of the countries they lived in. Jews in Germany, for example, began to speak German, and those in Britain, English. Hebrew was left as a sacred language used only in prayers and religious texts. When certain social restrictions on Jews in European countries were lifted in the 19th century, Jews began to assimilate with the societies they were living in. Most Jews saw themselves as a ‘religious community,’ not as a ‘race’ or ‘nation.’ They described themselves as ‘Jewish Germans,’ ‘Jewish Britons,’ or ‘Jewish Americans.’

However, there was a huge rise in racism all over the world in the 19th century. Racist ideas, influenced in particular by Darwin’s theory of evolution, grew enormously and found many supporters particularly in Western societies. Atheist Zionism was the effect this racist storm had among the Jews.

There are two varieties of Zionism today. The first of these is the Zionist conception of the devout Jewish people, who wish to live in peace and security in Israel alongside Muslims, seeking peace and wishing to worship in the lands of their forefathers and engage in business. In that sense, Muslims support Zionism. We would fully back the devout Jewish people living in peace and security in their own lands, remembering God, worshipping in their synagogues and engaging in science and trade in their own land.

The Zionist belief held by a devout Jew and based on the Torah does not in any way conflict with the Qur’an. The Jews’ living in that region is indicated in the Qur’an, in which it is revealed that God has settled the Children of Israel on it:

Remember when Moses said to his people, “My people! Remember God’s blessing to you when He appointed prophets among you and appointed kings for you, and gave you what He had not given to anyone else in all the worlds! My people! Enter the Holy Land which God has ordained for you. Do not turn back in your tracks and so become transformed into losers.” (Surat al-Ma’ida: 20-21)

It is the “irreligious, Godless Zionism” that we as Muslims condemn and regard as a threat. These Godless Zionists, who do not defend the existence and oneness of God, but, on the contrary, encourage a Darwinist, materialist perspective and thus engage in irreligious propaganda, are also a threat to devout Jews. Godless Zionism is today engaged in a struggle against peace, security and moral virtue, and constantly produces strife and chaos and the shedding of blood. Muslims and devout Jews must join forces to oppose this Godless Zionism and encourage belief in God.

Judaism Is Not the Origin of Atheist Zionism

The Jews who propagated the idea of Godless Zionism were people with very weak religious beliefs, most of whom were atheists. They saw Judaism as the name of a race, not as a community of belief. They suggested that the Jews were a separate race from European nations, that it was impossible for them to live together and that it was essential they establish their own homeland. They did not rely on religious thinking when deciding where that homeland should be. Theodor Herzl, the founder of irreligious Zionism, once thought of Uganda, and this became known as the ‘Uganda Plan.’ The Zionists later decided on Palestine. The reason for this was Palestine was regarded as ‘the Jews’ historic homeland’ rather than for any religious significance it had for them.

The atheist Zionists made great efforts to get other Jews to accept these non-religious ideas. In fact, the World Zionist Organization that was set up for this purpose undertook vast propaganda work in all countries with Jewish populations, and suggested that Jews could not live peacefully with other nations and that they were a separate ‘race,’ for which reason they had to go and settle in Palestine. Most Jewish communities ignored these calls.

In this way, atheist Zionism entered world politics as a racist ideology which maintained that Jews should not live with other nations. First of all, this mistaken idea created grave problems for and pressure on Jews living in the diaspora. Then for the millions of Muslims in the Middle East, it brought the Israeli policy of occupation and annexation, together with bloodshed, death, poverty and terror.

Many Jews today criticize this atheist and radical form of Zionist ideology. Rabbi Hirsch, one of the foremost Jewish men of religion, said, ‘Zionism wants to define the Jewish people as a national entity ... which is a heresy.’ 2

The famous French Muslim thinker Roger Garaudy wrote this on the subject:

The worst enemy of the prophetic Jewish faith is the nationalist, racist and colonialist logic of tribal Zionism, born of the nationalism, racism and colonialism of 19th century Europe. This logic …inspired all the colonialisms of the West and all its wars of one nationalism against another…There is no future or security for Israel and no peace in the Middle East unless Israel becomes "dezionized" and returns to the faith of Abraham, which is the spiritual, fraternal and common heritage of the three revealed religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. 3

For this reason, therefore, we must distinguish between devout Jews and atheist Zionists. Not every Jew in the world holds such an understanding of Zionism. In fact, atheist Zionists are a minority in the Jewish world. Moreover, there are a great many Jews who oppose atheist Zionism’s crimes against humanity, who want Israel to withdraw at once from all the territory it has occupied, and say that instead of being a racist ‘Jewish state’ Israel should be a free state where all races and communities can live together in equality.

While Muslims rightfully oppose Israel and atheist Zionism, they must also bear these truths in mind, and remember that it is not the devout Jews who are the problem, but atheist Zionism.
